Corresponds to the horizontal traffic signage which is represented by demarcation of lines, symbols, letters, etc. Generally, acrylic paints with solvent or aqueous base are used, and in some cases thermoplastic paint, cold plastic or thermospray are also used.
Lines can be classified into longitudinal and transverse lines, longitudinal lines are lane axis lines, roadway edge lines, prohibition lines, transition lines. Transversal lines are stop lines and paths.
Depending on the type of route to be demarcated, whether it corresponds to a road or highway, different demarcation widths and types of paint are used, which are defined by the technical specifications of the contract or instructions of the fiscal inspection, as the case may be.
It is also necessary to consider that there are certified and conventional demarcations, those performed by AFIN Suministros are conventional demarcations.
The types of lines to be demarcated are 6:
- Continuous lateral line (edge of roadway)
- Segmented lateral line (roadway edge)
- Single continuous axle line: (carriageway axis)
- Double continuous axle line: (carriageway axis)
- Segmented axle line: (roadway axis)
- Mixed double axle line: (carriageway axle)
